The Richland Medical Center History: Then and Now
The goal of combining the successful medical practices of two local clinics in Richland Center is what led to the conception of Richland Medical Center in 1962. Five highly competent physicians from two separate clinics collaborated to build the company. These physicians include Dr. Taft and Dr. Spear from one clinic together with Dr. Housner, Dr. Pippin, and Dr. Parke from another.
In 1965, Dr. Meyer and Dr. Kelertas joined the powerhouse. Soon after, in 1967, the Edwards’ Clinic became the latest addition to our center, bringing in Dr. Edwards Sr. and his son, Dr. Richard Edwards, and Dr. Glise as well as Dr. Tydrich.
Richland Medical Center at Present
We are located in the same building as the Richland Hospital. Our team provides services that surpass many other clinics that are even twice as big as our center. We have full-time specialists, physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants as well as specialists rotating from outside facilities located in the Madison and La Crosse areas.
In the spring of 2007, we opened the doors of the Center Creek Professional Building to the general public. This facility allowed us to house our MRI laboratory and geriatric center. We have leased space for a Dental Facility (Richland Family Dental) and are currently looking for future opportunities to fill additional spaces.
By tapping into our strong community ties, we are able to sponsor many annual and charitable events. Our physicians and staff, together with their families and friends, actively participate in these occasions.
